Retired person looking for a full time, temporary or part-time job. I bring with me over forty years of experience working in a range of roles, mostly within the British Civil Service. These roles have included: Office Administration;Team Management; Research and Development; IT Trainer; Senior Policy Manager for the Health and Safety Executive and the Office of Rail Regulation along with other administrative roles. Immediately available to start work.

Career History
Volunteer IT Trainer for Merton Library Service, Raynes Park Library, Approach Road, London SW20 8BA (24 April 2012 to 18 March 2018). 

Writing and delivering IT programmes to library users from one-to-one basis to small groups. Evaluate and monitor training to see that it is fit for purpose. Work to Merton Library regulations and performance standards. Nominated for 'Library Volunteer of the Year 2013'.

Senior Policy Manager for Rail Safety, Office of Rail Regulation, One Kemble Street, London WC2B 4AN (3 April 2016 to 14 October 2011).

Responsibility for ORR's business planning on regulatory rail safety, reporting to the Head of Rail Safety. Project managed a number of regulatory policy work streams, including a major review and update of level crossing guidance and the setting up of a cross Government process for monitoring and accessing rail safety research across the railway industry. Represented ORR on various external stakeholder groups, including Network Rail, transport for London, passenger and freight operating companies and trade unions.  Reached and drafted regulatory policy documents. Procured and managed external contractors. Made redundant following department remodelling exercise in the summer of 2011. 

Policy Advisor and other roles for the Health and Safety Executive, Rose Court, 2 Southwark Bridge, London SE1 9HS (19 July 1993 to 31 March 2006).

As part of the regulatory team I project managed a number of research programmes, including the Top 100 Companies Health and safety Campaign (2003 – 2006). Headed the policy review of the Employers Liability Act (2001– 2003). Secretariat for the Health and Safety Commission under Sir Bill Callaghan (1999  - 2001). Team manager for London South West Health and Safety Office supporting the Health and Safety Inspectorate (1996 – 1999). IT Trainer for the Health and Safety Inspectorate (1993 – 1996).

Programme Administrator for the Youth Opportunity Scheme and other administrative posts, Manpower Services Commission, 100 Grays Inn Road, London WC1 XHL (12 February 1979 to 16 July 1993).
