Whilst working for IBM, I successfully project managed a business unit move of 200 employees from one company site to another.

COOKERY LESSONS: I am a part-time professional freelance cook. I run and host a monthly supper club and offer cookery lessons on a 1:1 basis in the client's own home. I am Cordon Bleu certified and achieved an artisan breadmaking certificate from the Raymond Blanc Cookery School.

Excellent IT Skills

·     Excellent skills within the Microsoft Office Suite to advanced level (certified).

·     I have a keen interest in technology and have the ability to assimilate computer-based systems relatively quickly. 

·     In my own business I taught myself to build a database for a chandlery client, using third party software. 

·     I often research and use the internet, or other computer based tools, for my own personal productivity. 

 

Good Organisation and Time Management

During my secretarial career, I have consistently demonstrated excellent organisational skills.  This is evident from my roles with Carillion plc and IBM where, for example:

·        I organised Team events, social functions and conferences within the UK, Europe & United States, often involving delegates from all three regions.

·        I also organised the relocation of two executives and their respective families – one back to the USA, and the other to a new assignment in Tokyo.

·        Whilst working for IBM, I successfully project managed a business unit move of 200 employees from one company site to another.

·         I also managed a complicated diary, involving regular international trips, accommodating various time zones and complex itineraries, often to very tight schedules and frequently subject to change – a significant proportion of my time was spent rearranging/troubleshooting and finding solutions to an ever changing diary!

 

Good analytical skills and a natural ability to assimilate knowledge and learn new applications

  • Demonstrated during my employment with Hall Tax Service, where I assisted with forensic accounting type work i.e. extracting data from voluminous statements from foreign bank accounts, translating in to GBP and performing part disposal CGT calculations using large and complex Excel spread sheets.  I was trained by Hall Tax to carry out this type of work.  My contribution resulted in a real cost saving for Hall Tax service.
