Training: Building a broader income base with Leah Selinger
Building a Broader Income Base
Pitched for senior executives of small charities, this course supports participants to develop their understanding of the different types of income available to them, which to pursue in line with their organisational strategy, and their values - and how to do the pursuing.
The course will take place over two sessions on zoom.
The first session (October 17th 10.00-13.00) will look at income options and how each of them may align (or not) with the current economic climate, and with your organisation’s strategy, values and assets. It will also explore what diversification means for different organisations and introduce tools to help you evaluate your existing position and decide which income options to pursue.
The second session (October 31st 10.00-13.00) will look at making it happen. It will set out ways to sell to different audiences without over-extending operationally or financially and will explain how to use full cost recovery models. Finally, it will explore how to prepare for the potential cultural and operational impact of diversifying your income.
Content is rooted in real world examples that small charities face day to day, as well as when thinking about strategic decision making at a senior (including board) level.
With a range of interactive examples, group discussions and trainer led exercises, participants are introduced to a number of tools and concepts, and supported to understand how these can apply to their own organisations when they get ‘back to the office’.
