Kate Stephens is Founding CEO of Smart Works, a UK charity that exists to give women the confidence they need to succeed at interview, fulfil their potential and transform their lives. Under Kate’s leadership, over 10 years Smart Works grew from one centre in London to 11 across the UK, increased income from under £400k to over £4million and established the charity as a recognised national brand with high profile patrons and ambassadors. To date, Smart Works has helped 35,000 women on their journey to employment, with 69% going on to secure employment within a month of their visit.Kate combines senior private sector experience with a passion for the entrepreneurial, dynamic and inspirational charity sector, learnt first as Trustee, Vice Chair and then Chair of a leading family charity and then as CEO of Smart Works. She spent the first 15 years of her career in award winning public affairs consultanices, advising business, charities and trade bodies on their government relations, advocacy and stakeholder management.
