“Ally has served as the Project Manager for the Researchers in Fundraising (RiF) Handbook for over two years since the project's inception. The Handbook is a central online resource for knowledge, skills and best practice in the professional field of prospect research. Ally's contribution to this project can't be overstated, and without her hard work, knowledge and experience we wouldn't now be at the point of having published the Handbook. We are a group of volunteers contributing our time to this project on top of our day jobs, so it has an enormous help to have someone with Ally's skill set and qualities steering the direction of the project and keeping us on track.Within this project Ally has recruited, coordinated and managed volunteer working groups, worked with a web developer to create the online platform hosting the Handbook, helped set up a payments system so we can sell subscriptions, dealt with a number of legal and regulatory questions around the resource and the site, and planned a virtual launch event that had over 100 guests, among many other things. In addition to the operational management of the project she has also gone above and beyond to provide strategic advice around communications, marketing, and sponsorships, which has been a huge help.
