“75 Richmond AvenueAuckland Park209230 September 2014To whom it may concern,I have known Margaret-Ann Roestorf for over 40 years. In my experience she is a person of integrity, honesty, and someone who is frugal to a fault with funds entrusted to her management. She has a proven track record in fund-raising and salesmanship for both charitable and commercial enterprises. She turned Farmers Weekly around by greatly increasing its advertising revenue, and has immeasurably improved the financial situation of SANCCOB, an organisation concerned with the rescue and rehabilitation of penguins and other seabirds. She brings to any work she does not only great enthusiasm and willingness to work extremely hard, but also rare imagination and fresh and unusual ideas. In her dealings with clients and potential funders both in South Africa and abroad she is not afraid to supplement personal charm with loads of chutzpah!I more than once tried to hire her to raise funds for the South African Institute of Race Relations, of which I was CEO for some 30 years. A mark of her integrity is that she always declined my offer on the grounds that a personal friendship should not be compromised by being turned into a business relationship.”

“19 February 2025To Whom It May Concern,I am honoured to write this letter of reference for Margaret, who has been an invaluable part of our organisation since 2018 as our fundraiser. Over the years, she has consistently demonstrated exceptional dedication, skill, and professionalism in her role, exceeding our expectations time and time again. Even in her final month she is still submitting new funding applications and finding solutions.Margaret has an outstanding ability to build relationships and connect with donors, which has been instrumental in our fundraising success. Every year, she not only met but surpassed her targets, significantly contributing to our organisation’s financial stability and growth. She goes above and beyond what is expected of her, always seeking innovative ways to increase support and engagement. Her strategic approach, creativity, and persistence in securing donations have been truly remarkable. Her ability to match the donor’s strategic focus with our needs makes her a force to be reckoned with!Beyond her impressive professional achievements, Margaret has a fantastic personality that has made her a joy to work with. She is warm, charismatic, and highly respected by colleagues, donors, and trustees alike. Her enthusiasm and positive energy have been infectious, creating a motivating and collaborative work environment. We are incredibly grateful for Margaret’s contributions, and while we are sad to see her go, we have no doubt that she will bring the same level of passion and excellence to any organization she joins.
